Finding a good employee is hard, right? Like the employer. Over the eight years of my working experience, I managed to work in six companies and in three of them I was engaged in marketing. He worked both in huge organisms like Sberbank, and in tiny companies, where there was only an office area of ​​15 square meters with a couple of three colleagues.

Of course, any team always had some kind of friction. The management needed results, and employees complained among themselves about low salaries, the draconian regime, and so on.

Observing this for several years, I came to the conclusion that the chiefs and directors themselves are more often to blame for the laziness, slackness and useless results of employees. In a word, employers.

Why? Now I argue. Rummaging through my memory, I managed to find 10 reasons and situations when it was the boss’s jambs that made loafers and “cats” of normal employees who had paws.

1. Too low salary and greed
No need to get into labor market research and statistics in order to understand that most of us go to work for money. Mostly. But still, let’s look at the numbers.

71% of sales managers and 68% of representatives of other professions look specifically at the level of salary after the very requirements for the applicant and working conditions. A description of the team (the atmosphere in the team and others) or additional social guarantees (say, the VHI policy) are woven at the end of the list, without gaining 20%.

And the commercial organization itself is created to make a profit. It is not so important what you do – sites, furniture or vans. The goal is making money.

So why then is it considered normal for us to pay a marketing manager 25-40 thousand rubles?

They may object to me now that these are two special cases, but you can see other vacancies without me. In addition, I glossed over the names of two large industrial enterprises, which can afford much more.

And, thirdly, the director of one plant proved to me that 28 thousand rubles a month is very good money today.

Yes, excellent, when you need to give 7,000 rubles for housing and communal services and a bus ticket costs 1,500 rubles. And if you have a personal car? Although what could be a car with such a salary?

Why I never work for a salary and I do not advise you
And here I can argue that we have a very large tax burden on wages. Like, with a salary of 30 thousand, the director will have to pay 3,900 rubles only as income tax. And there are still contributions to the Pension Fund and off and on.

That’s right, but there is one caveat. I was lucky a couple of times to catch the moment of formation of the company. This is the period when we first sign the first contract on the windowsill, because there is not even a desk in the office, and after a year and a half, the director buys a new Audi Q3 or immediately BMW X6.

At the same time, the salary of his subordinates, who have worked in the company since its inception, does not change. Or growing for a couple of thousand rubles a year.

This is a huge mistake of fledgling managers and directors who take 90% of their profits for themselves and indulge themselves with diamonds, holidays in Europe or new machines in front of employees who are trying to live from salary to salary.

Plus, withdrawing a lot of money from a business is one of 5 fatal financial mistakes.

When you work in a huge company like the same Sberbank, you don’t know how conditional German Gref lives. It is clear that he is rich and receives much more consultant in the usual department, but he is far away.

You cannot compare yours and his life. It is better to look up to a senior consultant or department head, whom you see every day.

And when you share one office with the director and see how he doesn’t refuse anything to himself, and you are looking for someone else to borrow until the payday, then, naturally, there will be no motivation to work for the benefit of the company manager.

I’m not a professional psychologist and I don’t know why entrepreneurs are quickly “demolished by the tower” of money, but they often forget that this money is brought to them by their subordinates, to whom they greatly underpay.

And the second reason follows from this.

2. Savings on smart shots
I’ll tell a funny story. We have a sports goods factory in our city. And its director wanted a very cool SMM. To make everything like people. He opened the vacancy of an SMM manager and began looking for one person who could “blow up” social networks and bring a wave of customers from there.

He was going to pay him 35-40 thousand rubles. Not smart, but worthy, at least. The list of requirements was as follows:
